But love, and lust are seperate things – and would Rachel ‘coming out of the closet’ with Ivy ruin the friendship? Rachel can be a little flighty about these things.
As much as I’d love to see them together, just because I like both of them (and I’m a hideous matchmaker), I just don’t know if it would work long term – Rachel is still a little up in the air and generally confused about who she is and where she’s going. Until she has sorted out what she wants I’d hate to see her ruin the friendship with Ivy, when I think it’s only going to get stronger.

First Date Tips! Advice From a Girl That’s Been on Some Rough Ones
Going on a first date is always a little unnerving, especially if you really like the person. The first date is important because if everything works out it’s going to be one of your first memories together. Hopefully, you two already have somewhat of an idea about each other before your first date. If you’re completely clueless I suggest something small like a coffee house, those are always a comfortable place to sit and talk. Regardless of where you’re going I have a few tips to help get you through the night.
Phone Etiquette. From the moment you pick her up, or meet her it’s a killer to be on your phone or constantly texting. Keep your phone on silent and keep it in your pocket, it’s still there for an emergency but I’m sure you can survive without it. Whatever you do, don’t use your phone while you two are at the table or in the middle of the conversation.
Conversation. Ex’s are absolutely off limits, regardless of if you just got out of a relationship or have been single for what seems like fifty years stash that somewhere in the back of your mind. Don’t be a one-upper. If she’s telling you about her life don’t interrupt with, “Oh yeah! Well this one time my buddy…” Because after you get to buddy she’s no longer listening. Good conversation topics are food, restaurants, animals, school, etc. Like I said it’s a bonus to already know something about each other so you have something to talk about.
When you arrive at a restaurant always let the girl sit down first, it’s a great gesture which shows you’re being respectful. Bragging and being cocky isn’t going to get you anywhere on a first date, or in any relationship for that matter. But what is going to help you is to just be yourself. Relax during conversation and if you do say something stupid just laugh it off. A sense of humor is a great quality in a guy that all girls look for.
After your date is over be sure to walk your date to her door. The kissing part is up to you, do what you feel is right. But don’t forget that there is always next time. Mystery is sexy to a woman and if you make her work a little bit for that first kiss she’s going to love it even more. One of the best things you can do through the entire date and beyond, is to open doors. I have never heard of something more important to a girl on a first date than opening a door.
I hope that these tips have given you something to think about and get you started. First dates don’t require magic, just some good conversation and opening of doors. If there are any feelings between you two they’re just going to continue in time.
